MY APPROACH TO CAPTURING YOUR DAY

My aim is to capture your day as it happens in a natural and unobtrusive way. I feel that it’s important to keep you and your guests at ease, so I take a minimal approach with kit, keep my distance and use my experience to help anticipate the moments – big and small. I don’t manufacture moments, but I know couples can feel uncomfortable when left in the dark during certain parts of your day, such as your couple session or bridal and groom portraits – so I will offer gentle prompts when appropriate.

My approach to cinematography is simplicity; harnessing my understanding of using natural light and cinematic compositions to frame your day in a way that elevates the storytelling, whilst keeping the focus on what matters the most: your story and your people.

COLLECTIONS

I have two packages, each offering two unique films. It’s not unusual for my couples to require a more bespoke approach, so if you feel like your wedding needs a tailored approach please let me know and we can discuss your exact requirements.

In this film, you’ll re-live the full story of your day – capturing both the big, joyful moments and the smaller, fleeting ones. From morning preparations through to the evening celebrations, the narrative is shaped using natural audio from your ceremony and speeches.

With a focus on combining narrative with thoughtful composition, the film is designed to transport you back – leaving you with a timeless reminder of one of the most important days of your life.

The exact length is dictated by the story crafted through the speeches and footage captured. The sweet spot usually lands around the 8-minute mark. It’s not an exact science, but the final runtime almost always sits between 8 and 10 minutes – long enough to honour your day fully, while keeping the storytelling tight, elegant, and creatively engaging.

This highlights film is often non-chronological and crafted to be highly emotive – using standout moments from throughout your day to make you feel like you’re right back there from the very first frame.

It’s perfect for sharing online and offers a beautifully distilled version of your wedding, capturing the emotion, energy, and atmosphere in a way that feels both cinematic and personal.

For couples who want to relive their day in greater depth, this extended version builds on the same storytelling approach as the shorter feature – but allows more space to include additional moments, atmosphere, and subtle details as the day unfolds.

It’s the same cinematic style, just with more room to breathe – offering a richer, more immersive reflection of your wedding.

A completely original 1-minute film, crafted specifically for Instagram and social media platforms. This edit captures the energy and highlights of your day in a way that’s fast-paced, visually striking, and ready to share.

While your longer film holds the more intimate moments, this edit offers a way to celebrate and relive your day publicly – with the option to keep the deeper story just for those closest to you.

Add an 8-minute Super 8 film, shot across two reels of authentic Kodak film (8 minutes).

This analogue add-on captures your day with timeless texture and warmth – soft, flickering frames that feel lifted from a memory.

Whether used as a nostalgic standalone piece or woven into your digital film, it adds a tactile, dreamlike quality that no digital camera can replicate. Developed and professionally scanned in high resolution, then carefully edited into a finished piece that feels as emotive as it is beautiful.

FAQS

About a month before your day I’ll get in touch to arrange a video call. This is important as no wedding is the same and having a chat beforehand means that I can prep for your day, making sure I know exactly where we have to be and when.

Coverage starts from your preparations. I’ll arrive normally a couple of hours before your ceremony. Importantly I won’t get in your way or make you feel like you’re taking part in a fashion shoot; I’ll just grab some shots of all of the important stuff that’ll be happening – the pre wedding nervous excitement, champagne being popped, gifts being given out – that sort of thing.

Next, I’ll head off to your ceremony location. Regardless of whether you’re having a church service, a civil ceremony or any other type, I’ll film it using at least two cameras. Where I position myself is normally down to the registrar, celebrant or vicar – but I arrive in good time to make sure all of this is sorted. The only other ‘set-up’ that takes place during your day is your speeches. For this, I’ll make sure everyone that is doing a speech is microphoned up (using discreet lav mics), set up at least two cameras and then make sure I hit record (that part is super important).

I’ll spend the rest of the day grabbing plenty of candid shots of your guests. I don’t like to get in people’s faces as a) it’s annoying for the guests and b) I prefer natural shots, which generally don’t happen when people are aware that they’re being filmed. I’ll also like to take you, the happy couple away for some portrait shots. I’ll do this alongside your photographer to minimise the amount of time that you’re away from your guests. During your portrait session, my goal is simple: to help you feel comfortable and natural. I’ll collaborate closely with your photographer to minimise the time you’re away from your guests – and keep things relaxed and authentic.

All films will be delivered online via a company called VidFlow. You’ll be able to download your films in full resolution directly from your gallery, as well as stream all your films on your TV be downloading an app.

Drone footage of your venue is also included in both of my packages, with no extra fee. I’m fully insured to fly legally. I always do my best to capture aerial footage, but please do be aware that sometimes I might not be able to due to matters out of our control – these include weather, air, venue and timing restrictions.

For the Extended Highlights Film, expect delivery 3–4 months post-wedding.

For the Highlights + Feature Film, your short edit arrives in 6–7 weeks, with the full package completed within 3–4 months (and never more than 5).
